11th April 2006 Windsurfing: WSM Wind Direction: wsw Wind Stength: f5 Surf / Sea State: Air Temperature: Sea Temperature: Weather: Max Speed: Distance Covered: Had a good day,New mast arrived at 12.30pm close call. Popped down to wsm, the weather was overcast & a bit drizzily,there didnt seem to much wind on the beach but the station on the pier said 17-22knts, so i rigged 5.7 & big board to play it safe as it was along walk out. Kit on head & started long walk in what seemed about 8knts? eventually made it to the brown stuff but it still didnt seem windy, but i\'m here now so might as well give it a go. Hopped on wallowed for about 20 yards thinking this is gonna be Shite, when bang fully powered up :) headed down off the end off the pier & was greated by over head high waves & coulndt believe it. Was a bit overpowered as well, should have used my goya, but back buy the van it wasnt even windy,so stayed down off the pier playing in the waves,scoring some really Big jumps as i was going so fast,i sailed down this end for about an hour & couldnt believe no one else was here as these were the best waves i sailed here for a while! just wish i had taken my smaller board out,never mind. At 5.45pm 2 &a bit hrs after i got on the clouds passed over the sun came out & the wind started dropping,(end of the cold front) with this a couple more turned up but unfortunately for them they had missed an excellent session!!! |
